Hoes
A garden hoe (top) will have a wider blade for soil preparation whereas a weeding hoe (bottom) will have a smaller pointed blade with either one or two prongs for digging out weeds. Depending on what you plan to use the hoe for, the handle will be straight or shaped to provide a combination of strength and a comfortable grip. Look at the width, depth and shape of the blade when determining what hoe to purchase. Good quality hoes have a one-piece blade, shank and socket driven into the handle for added strength. Welded shank hoes are used for light-duty in the garden. |
