Spades
Spades are used for prying and loosening the dirt in the yard. Do not use it for transporting soil to another area or digging; instead use a shovel for these jobs. The garden spade has a square edged blade about 7" wide and 12" long, with a 28"-29" "D"-handle. Look for a blade with a rolled shoulder that makes it easy to apply foot pressure in hard soil to break it up for easier use. |
